Ford’s presentation at 2008 London Auto Show is Fiesta ECOnetic. Though diesels are not very popular in U.S., the American auto maker does not want to loose its chance to present its new invention to British people.
The little auto is really good at “green” aspects. It emits very low level of CO2: only 98g/km. Fiesta ECOnetic has very low fuel usage. Thanks to the rear air deflectors, low suspension and low-rolling-resistance tires, the car eats 51 mpg in the city limit and 74 on the highway!
Some help to the fuel saving provide recalibrated diesel and low-friction oil used by the manufacturer.
The vehicle has a 1.6-liter four-cylinder TDCi turbo diesel engine, which gives it 89 horsepower.
Ford offers Fiesta ECOnetic in three- and five-door variants. The bottom price is $23,600.
This is the third ECO car from Ford at the European market. The customers are already familiar with Mondeo ECOnetic and Focus ECOnetic presented earlier.
Though there are several auto shows which take place in summer, we already start finding out about the fall events.
One of the debuts for 2008 British Auto Show is Lotus Project Eagle. The first official pictures of the sport car have been released a few days ago.
Ford plans to stop the production of the Mercury models in 4 years. Though the officials of the company do not confirm this information, Ford does not have any plans for it after 2012.
This year at the Detroit Auto Show Ford presented Fiesta. The company planned to build only a sedan version for the North American customers, but the high demand from customers made them consider the production of a hatchback model as well.
Ford does not like making minivans and offers the alternatives instead. The combination of Range Rover and station wagon is going to the dealerships in July.
