Everybody was waiting for the grand opening of the New-York Auto Show. For two days press was full of the articles about the vehicles presented there. Finally today is the first day when the show starts and will take place for 10 days till March 30.
This year New-York started earlier. Geneva Auto Show has been finished two weeks ago and the New-York Show starts right after it. Earlier the time difference between them was bigger (for a comparison, there was the whole month between the shows last year). The car manufacturers did not have time to breathe and had to prepare their presentations for both shows almost simultaneously.
Nearly a dozen of cars make there debut at the New-York show. Acura TSX, Honda Fit, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Suzuki Kizashi 3 Concept and others. People can see different coupes like Audi A5, Audi S5, Scion Hako coupe, concept vehicles (Suzuki Kizashi 3, Saab 9X Byohybrid concept), and futuristic vehicles like Mitsubishi iMiEV. In total about 1000 vehicles are presented for the visitors.
This year the New-York Auto Show will take place in Jacob Javits Convention Center on the 21st-30th of March. There are four categories in which the best cars will be announced.
Mercedes-Benz is becoming even more special with the new technology called Magic Body Control. Mercedes Vice President, Hans Multhaupt, says that it was started in the beginning of 1990’s at the World Sportscar Championship Group C, but the technology was outlawed because the car with it has “slaughtered the field” in 1990 and 1991.
General Motors is so confident in its new Chevrolet Cruze that it asks 3,000 Chevy dealers to purchase competitor’s vehicles for test-drive comparisons.
Chevrolet Corvette is one of the few classic American muscle cars, adored by thousands of people. This weekend many of them went to the “America through Corvettes” event, which took place in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Although American media was saying that Volkswagen Amarok would be coming to the U.S. pretty soon, VW representative in Brazil made it clear this week that the new pick-up truck will go to many countries, but it is not coming to North America.
