Chevrolet plans to present a small car at the 2008 Paris Auto Show in October. The three official pictures of Chevy Cruze have been already posted on the Internet.

It is not an absolutely big invention and the designers admit they were not planning to create a revolutionary car; instead they just made a smaller version of Malibu and replaced Chevrolet Cobalt with it. Cruze is debuting in Europe in March 2009 and starting with 2011 this model will be assembled in Lordstown, Ohio, at the General Motors plant. The manufacturer expects big popularity for Chevrolet Cruze and plans to sell it in more than 100 countries all over the world.

The company will offer different kinds on engines for the small car: the European version of it will come out with 1.6-liter four-cylinder gas engine, which provides 112 horsepower or it can be expanded to 1.8-liter giving 140 hp to the auto. Along with the gasoline engines the auto maker gives a choice of 2.0-liter turbodiesel with which the little car will have 150 horsepower.

We don’t have data about Chevy Cruze fuel efficiency yet, but it is expected to do even better than its forerunner, Cobalt.
