For those who think that the days of station wagons are over Mercedes-Benz is ready to present the 2010 E-Class auto at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show in September. Soon after the debut the manufacturer plans to start the production of the model.
The E-Class sedan has been a real success this year. After spring debut the company sold more than 40,000 units which made it the global market leader in May. The expectations of the station wagon are really high if it will follow the steps of the sedan.
Mercedes does not unveil any details on the new project even though its production is so near. The majority of fans expect it to have the same two engines as the sedan has: the E350 4MATIC and 6.2-liter v8 E63 AMG.
According to Mercedes Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, Klaus Maier all new E-Class vehicles are “the brand’s basic attributes of safety, comfort, and quality”. All of them have good fuel-economy because the engines have direct injection systems and use less fuel than their predecessors although having higher output.
The new 2010 E-Class station wagon is coming to Europe named Estate. The manufacturer will also sell it to the U.S. and Chinese customers, because these are the biggest markets for vehicles of this kind.
Volkswagen came to the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show with a new small car. E Up! is called “the Beetle of the 21st Century” by the manufacturer although it has a significantly different look from the bug-car.
Russian cars do not have a very good reputation on the world auto market. They have always had very good military vehicles, but this is all the Russian manufacturers are famous for. So, nobody expected a presentation of a Russian supercar at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show.
The 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show had a lot of great vehicles which might become stars of the new generation. One of them is Citroën Revolte, the plug-in hybrid which became a “graphic quotation” of the famous 2CV, one of the most popular cars in France.
The 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show is going to be the largest one this year. It is opening tomorrow, on September, 15. This is not only the major German exhibition, but the largest one worldwide, so all automakers are working for the best presentations at the show.
There have been a lot of talks about the new car from Rolls-Royce, primarily because of the mystery created by the manufacturer around the Ghost. The next week all the details will be unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show.
