There have been a lot of talks about the new car from Rolls-Royce, primarily because of the mystery created by the manufacturer around the Ghost. The next week all the details will be unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show.
The luxury car had a predecessor, concept 200EX, but now it is ready to become a production model. The mysterious monster runs on a twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12 engine outputting 563-horsepower. The car has rear-wheel drive and is operated trough a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Ghost is also equipped with “intelligent” air suspension system, four-zone automatic climate control, a head-up display, a 600-watt 16-speaker audio system and a big number of cameras. Just like in the Phantom, 2011 Ghost has rear hinged rear doors.
If all these features are not enough, Rolls-Royce will gladly add more comfort attributes as options: night-vision system, a lane-departure warning system, a panoramic sunroof, individual perforated-leather lounge seating with cooling and massage functions, an illuminated cool box with champagne glasses, leather and veneer picnic tables built into the front seatbacks and a choice of 20-inch wheels and tires.
Volkswagen came to the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show with a new small car. E Up! is called “the Beetle of the 21st Century” by the manufacturer although it has a significantly different look from the bug-car.
Russian cars do not have a very good reputation on the world auto market. They have always had very good military vehicles, but this is all the Russian manufacturers are famous for. So, nobody expected a presentation of a Russian supercar at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show.
The 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show had a lot of great vehicles which might become stars of the new generation. One of them is Citroën Revolte, the plug-in hybrid which became a “graphic quotation” of the famous 2CV, one of the most popular cars in France.
The 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show is going to be the largest one this year. It is opening tomorrow, on September, 15. This is not only the major German exhibition, but the largest one worldwide, so all automakers are working for the best presentations at the show.
Manufacturers are not the only ones who present their designs at auto shows: German tuner, Irmscher Automobilau is going to the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show with the upgrade package for the 2010 Opel Astra.
