2010 Toyota Prius Goes on Sale in May

2010 Toyota Prius

Those customers who want the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the U.S. have already decided to choose Toyota Prius. This year the Japanese automaker offers even more savings on gas.

2010 Toyota Prius goes to the dealerships in May. The vice-president and general manager of the American division says they plan to sell about 100,000 units of the new model in the remaining 9 months because 2010 Prius is proven to use 50 mpg in the city limit and 49 mpg on highway.

The third generation hybrid has been completely redesigned. It is built on Toyota’s global small car platform as Toyota Corolla and Matrix. It has wider track and longer body which provides more room for passengers and increases cargo space.

2010 Prius runs on 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle inline four-cylinder engine which outputs 98 horsepower and 105 pound-feet of torque. The standard edition includes following features: 15-inch alloy wheels with P185/65R15 tires, four-wheel disc brakes, stability control, keyless ignition system, automatic climate control, tilt/telescoping steering wheel and cruise control.

The price of the new hybrid has not been announced yet.
