Allstate expands in Canada by opening new offices all over the country. The auto insurance company has already started making researches on the driving style, safe driving and numbers of accidents in different areas.

The first Ontario Safe Driving Study has shown that the drivers in Toronto area drive twice as poorly as the drivers in other Ontario communities. Thornhill, Ajax, Maple, Brampton and Bolton have the highest crash rates in the province. Allstate ranked St. Thomas as the safest community because collisions happen there more rarely than in any other Ontario area.

The other points of the study show:
• If the 49 Ontario communities are considered as five larger regions, the Great Toronto Area is considered the most dangerous while Northern Ontario has the safest drivers.
• Allstate was comparing data from 2003-2006 and 2006-2009 and made a conclusion that St. Thomas has significantly improved in the last years which put it to the highest rank of road safety.
• Cornwall and Georgetown show the biggest proportional increases in car crash claims over the two three-year periods.
