Andersson Changes GM to GAZ

Bo Andersson

Since American government does not cherish the heads of General Motors, Russian GAZ Group decided to offer one of them a good position. GM executive, Bo Andersson has already accepted the position of the chairman of GAZ board, but the final settings will be done on June 29 when company’s general annual meeting will take place and the list of major candidates will be discussed.

Currently the position is taken by Swedish Erik Eberhardson, but the company needs somebody with more experience to restructure some parts and pull the automaker out of debt. At this time Andresson already works with GAZ owner as the advisor on the automotive business.

In order to cure the falling sales and come out of $1.4 billion debt GAZ should work on the development of new models and improve the quality and safety features of the existing models.

After Opel will be purchased by Russian-Canadian partnership Andersson is most likely to work on the restructuring and management of the German brand too. Many experts believe that GAZ and Opel might have a great future together.
