Two strong companies: the German automaker, Audi, and Italian high fashion clothing company, Prada, - announced about their plans to work together. There have not been made any joint projects, but the representatives of the companies say Audi and Prada are going to work in sport and cultural areas together.
According to Peter Schwarzenbauer, Audi manager for marketing and sales, the automaker and fashion company are planning to have a “long-term partnership”.
The first joint project will take place in February. Audi and Prada are sponsoring the yacht “Luna Rossa” at the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series together. So, as any smart company would do the two are starting with the advertisement. And after the world finds out about their joint work, the Prada fans will turn their attention to Audi while the German car lovers might get interested in the Italian fashion.
Audi plans to launch the North American sales of highly advertised compact SUV, Q5, in March. The manufacturer says it will be an equal competitor to the other foreign sport-utility autos like BMW X3, Lexus RX 350 and Infiniti EX35.
As many other auto manufacturers Audi did not have good sales year and according to the November report the 2008 sales were 35% down comparing to the 2007.
Usually we read about the new vehicles designed, tested and presented at various auto shows ready for sale in a few months.
