Automakers Compete for Customers

Ford, GM and Hyundai Compete

Many companies lay off their employees and buying a vehicle is a dangerous step. However, more and more automakers offer help if customers stop their choice on specific model.

Hyundai started its program in January. The manufacturer offers customers to walk away from the car purchase if they loose a job due to hard economic situation. However there is a minimal term: three first months have to be paid for the new car on the deal does not become effective.

Ford proposes to pay for up to 12 months totaling $700 a month if the car owner will get laid off. If one wants to participate in the program, he or she should remember the Ford Advantage Plan ends June 1, 2009.

General Motors decided to join the team. The automaker is ready to cover 9 months of payments up to $500 a month for those who lost a job for “economic reasons”. So far their plan is on till the end of April.

Hyundai Assurance plan has been active longer than the other two and it proved itself. The idea really works and people are ready to purchase vehicles with the agreements like this. It is possible that more auto companies will join the competition.
