A new electric car is offered by Renault: the manufacturer says that the production of Zoe Z.E. concept is scheduled for 2012. The pictures of the cute-looking concept are widely spread on the Internet, but the details of the performance specifications are kept in secret.
Zoe Z.E. is definitely made in French style: the vehicle owner will enjoy the “essential oils adapted to the needs of the driver”. Designed in the partnership with Biotherm, the skin care branch of cosmetics manufacturer L'Oréal Luxury Products, the electric system of the car provides the comfort of aromatherapy which “makes the driver relax when coming home from work and wakes him or her up when driving at night”. One of the primary offers is lavander oil, but the choices might vary.
Another interesting feature offered by Biotherm is the air-conditioning system that rehydrates the skin of passengers. How it is going to be done without over-moisturizing the interior of the vehicle will be reveiled later.
The roof of Zoe Z.E. is an attractive detail. Renault says, it is an “intelligent protective membrane that insulates against heat and cold”. Thanks to the unique design, the roof restores energy in the batteries using photovoltaic cells.
The American automaker, General Motors, does not plan buying lithium-ion batteries for electric cars from other manufacturers, the company has announced that there will be a plant built by them specifically for this purpose.
