Fenix Supercar

Fenix

British company, Fenix Automotive, is ready to present a new mid-engine supercar which will be fully designed and unveiled only in the second half of 2010. The manufacturer has shown two pictures of the car, but has not given a name to the new creation.

The Fenix supercar is going to be powered by GM engines: a smaller version will run on 480 horsepower GM LS3 while the advanced supercar has 628-hp Corvette ZR1 LS9 motor which pushes the auto from 0 to 100 mph in 7.0 seconds. The top speed is planned to be more than 200 mph.

The first prototype is going to be ready in a month: it is assembled in South Africa with the final chassis development brought from the U.K. The first tests will be taken on mountain roads near Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and then the car will be sent to the U.K. and tested there too.

The founder of Fenix, Lee Noble, says that the new supercar is a successor of the M12, designed by his former company, Noble Cars. The autos really look alike and if Noble is right, the new supercar is going to be as successful as its predecessor which had a lot of fans over the years.

If plans go well, Fenix is going to build about 500 units a year and sell them at the U.S. market.
