In January Korean automaker Huyndai has offered Assurance Plan for those who will purchase their vehicles in 2009. Since then their sales went up and it was basicly the only company that did not suffer loss in the beginning of the year. On March 31, Ford has introduced a similar plan. The American manufacturer says its Advantage Plan will cover payments for up to 12 months on a new Ford, Lincoln or Mercury if a customer will lose the job.
Ford program has already started and will last throughout June 1. It provides payment protection of up to $700 per month. In addition some vehicles will be offered with zero financing. As part of the plan there will be “local charity support program”. More details on the whole Ford Advantage Plan will be announced in April.
Ken Czubay, Ford’s vice president said, “We at Ford want to do our part to rebuild faith in the marketplace by offering payment protection on every new Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle for up to a year if our customers lose their jobs."
Good news from Ford: the manufacturer has announced to the shareholders that everything is under control and the company is going to come out of hard economic position by 2011 without any government help.
Many companies lay off their employees and buying a vehicle is a dangerous step. However, more and more automakers offer help if customers stop their choice on specific model.
Daimler AG has announced that is sold 5.34% of the stake in Tata Motors. The German company has raised more than $400 million for the shares it did not want to hold any more.
