Today is a special day for the Japanese customers, because Nissan started selling its well advertised Fairlady Z. The manufacturer decided to demonstrate its patriotic feelings and offer the sport coupe to its native buyers.
There was a lot of mystery around the auto and a month ago the beauty was presented at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show. All the Z models have VQ37 VHR 3.7-liter V6 engines with 331 horsepower. The basic version comes with six-speed manual transmission, but for additional $1,100 Nissan offers seven-speed automatic.
Standard Fairlady Z is sold for almost $38,000 and the most advanced version ST does for $45,638 and $46,738.
Nissan plans to sell the car in 120 countries. The biggest sales are expected in North America where 370Z (the American version of the Fairlady) goes to dealerships in January.
