Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni

Making limited-edition supercars with famous people names becomes popular in automotive world. After the Iacocca Mustang announcement Lamborghini has made its step saying that they are building Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni. The name comes from the company’s legendary test driver who retired this year. After more than 40 years of faithful work for the Italian automaker Mr. Balboni has given up his position of a chief test driver.

The limited edition Lamborghini has 5.2-liter V10 engine which outputs 550 PS or 542 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. There is a choice of a six-speed manual transmission or e-gear sequential automatic with paddle shifters. The car can achieve the maximum speed of 199 mph and reach 60 mph from 0 mph within 3.9 seconds.

Comparing to standard Gallardo Balboni car has upgraded shocks, springs, stabilizer bars, rear axle, tires and aerodynamics. Carbon ceramic brakes are offered as an optional feature.

The manufacturer offers limited Gallardo in eight colors, but each of the cars will bear a white-and-gold stripe in the center of the car. This feature was very popular in 1970’s. Brake calipers are also available in various colors depending on the choice of body paint.

There will be 250 units of the Balboni Lamborghini priced from $219,800.
