Limited Edition Autos: Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport

For a long time we have been waiting for a new Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport and the company finally showed its creation last weekend at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, California.

It is a convertible with a very unique shape. In case of the usage of the folding roof, which is in the luggage compartment, the car will not go faster than 81 mph. But don’t worry, this is not the fastest speed this 1,001 horsepower monster can do. The company says when Veyron 16.4 runs topless, its maximum speed is 224 mph, with the transparent hardtop it reaches 253 mph.

The designers worked a lot to improve the auto: the monocoque structure around the side skirts was reinforced, under the transmission tunnel a carbon plate was built to make the chassis more stable and the B-pillars with carbon fiber were stiffened.

The extra features for the car will be diamond-cut alloy rims, 2.7-inch reversing camera in the rearview mirror, LED daytime running lights, leather inside trim and “Puccini” sound system with digital signal processor.

Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport will be assembled in a limited number of only 150 cars. They are going on sale in March 2009 and the price is $2.06 million.
