As a rule we hear first news about new concepts 2-4 years before they come out as a real project. We know about 2010 models being in full development, 2011-2012 cars coming to the customers as soon as the final tests get done, but what about 2049 car? Isn’t it interesting to know what kind of vehicles we are going to have in 40 years?
Opel thinks that in a few decades it is going to create autos that run without touching ground and look like cars from sci-fi films. In fact, the interesting idea came to the heads of students from U.K. Royal College of Art who were creating futuristic Opel for a contest.
Student exhibition starts on April 27, but German automaker decided to unveil one of the images in advance as a teaser for reporters and visitors. All the projects will be presented at London Transport Museum. After the winning team is announced they will be invited to spend three months at the GM’s European Design Center.
