Lotus Presents Eagle at British Auto Show

Lotus Eagle

One of the debuts for 2008 British Auto Show is Lotus Project Eagle. The first official pictures of the sport car have been released a few days ago.

Since 1995, when Lotus presented Elise model, Eagle is the first all-new car from the company. Lotus CEO, Mike Kimberley, has been working on this model since 1996. Eagle is the first car out of the three models in his five-year strategic business plan.

Eagle has a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 276-horsepower, but its maximum speed is only 160 miles per hour. For the beginning Lotus presents a two-seater model, though the company designers are working on the different kinds and will offer a convertible and an ultrahigh performance model later.

The number of the vehicles is going to be limited and Lotus plans to sell only 2,000 of them each year. The sales will start in spring, 2009.
