Mazda Starts Selling Axela in Japan

Mazda has announced that it starts selling the second-generation Axela in Japan. The car named Mazda 3 in the U.S. is priced at the home market for $16,954 to $27,350. The automaker has big plans on it saying there will be approximately 2,000 units sold each month.

Axela runs on 1.3- or 2.0-liter engines with various transmissions. It is classified as Super-Ultra-Low-Emission-Vehicle because according to the automaker it gets 15% better fuel efficiency than ordinary fuel-efficient car.

The new sedan is also sold as “eco sport car” being equipped with i-stop engine stop/start system. This interesting feature means that the system uses combustion energy to restart engine in 0.35 seconds.

Axela is different from its predecessors with the new front-end design and interesting Zone Layout on the inside. It is also equipped with identifying hood scoop, aerodynamically modified front and rear bumpers, dual exhaust, floating rear roof spoiler and information display inside.
