New Ford Plant in China

Ford Plant

Ford expands its work in China by building another assembly plant for 150,000 units a year. The sales of Ford vehicles grew by 30% in the country and this was the reason for building the third facility which increases the total production in China to 450,000 vehicles annually.

According to the media Ford is building it in Chongqing, southern China. This is going to be the second plant in the city because Ford already has a large facility there which assembles Fiesta, Mondeo, Focus and S-Max. Right now the automaker shares the plant with its partner Changan Automobile and Mazda which also build their cars there. Another plant of the same size in situated in Nanjing, the major city in the south of China.

Ford is planning a big opening ceremony where the news will be broken, so far the representatives of the company deny commenting anything about the plant. The President and CEO of Ford Motor Company, Alan Mullaly is going to attend the big event.
