The Honda company announced they wanted to work more on mini-vehicles and decided to build a new plant in central Japan. They think the vehicles with the engine size 660 cubic centimeters are going to stay popular for the next years. For a long time little fuel-efficient cars have been popular in Japan. After the gas-prices went high, the demand on these vehicles grew worldwide.
Since Honda already has a plant producing mini-vehicles, they plan to share the production with the new one. The old plant is going to continue the production of Acty and Vamos models while the new one will build Life and Zest models. Together these plants will produce 240,000 models a year.
Honda plans to spend $491 million on the new plant and by 2009 they will already launch the engine production on it. In the end of 2010 there will be set whole vehicle production.
In the beginning of September Honda is going to start sales of 2009 Honda Fit. The company has already released the prices for all the varieties of the model.
Honda works on the new model of Acura NSX and seems like the company had some changes for the car since the Nürnburg show, Germany, in June.
Honda decided to attract a new circle of customers and created a website for dog lovers. It is a Japanese website which gives all the information a person needs if he or she wants to have a pet in the vehicle.
One of the future concepts at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show was presented by Honda. A mix of Honda Fit and Ford Fiesta, the new Guangzhou Li Nian will start in the beginning of 2010.
