We have written before about Progressive offering pet insurance for RV owners. Several car insurance providers considered this to be not a bad idea and they start offering the insurance coverage for the people’s beloved dogs and cats.

Farmers Insurance Group activated policies with pet health coverage in Minnesota on August, 1. Every existing customer, who owns a pet, can add this to their car insurance at the time of the renewal in order to take care of their dog/cat in case of its injury or death during a vehicle accident or theft. This policy costs $600 a year.

The coverage is available to those who has comprehensive and collision auto coverage and it applies only to the pets owned by the driver.

Farmers Insurance plans to offer pet insurance to all 29 states where it operates by February next year.
