Mitsubishi has great success with the small electric car i MiEV and wants to expand the sales. Besides the fact it already plans to sell the car on the European market as a Mitsubishi vehicle, the manufacturer is making an agreement to deliver it to Europe under Peugeot name too.
France has been interested in small electric vehicles for a while already. There have been several campaigns that attracted people’s attention even more. According to the agreement between Mitsubishi and Peugeot the Japanese automaker will be manufacturing the cars and sell them under Peugeot name in the French dealerships. European EV sales will start in the end of 2010 or beginning of 2011.
The Japanese customers will be able to purchase i MiEV this summer and the company is looking for other markets including North American one.
The year 2010 is not here yet, but the manufacturers already start recalling vehicles marked as 2010 models. Here is one of them: Mitsubishi is requested to recall 531 of 2010 Endeavor for airbag problem.
Mitsubishi plans to start sales of i MiEV in Japan this summer and then expand to Europe in 2010. Meanwhile the company works on the new concept, Mitsubishi i MiEV Sport Air that is presented at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show.
