Indian car manufacturer, Bajaj Auto, is going have broader choice of vehicles by making an alliance with Renault-Nissan.
The negotiations are still going. These days the companies are discussing the united development and production of the large and multipurpose autos on the territory of the country. According to the words of managing director of Bajaj Auto, they are setting a variety of products, which could be available for the people in India. The final decisions and the last signatures will be put on the contract in July.
Last month it has already been announced about the new vehicles the companies are going to build together. It is supposed to compete with Tata Nano, which will be presented in India in 2011 and will go on sale for only $2,500.
This is not going to be the first contract for Renault-Nissan in India. The auto maker already deals with Mahindra & Mahindra, which is another native car manufacturer. Together they are building a new plant in Chennai. By the beginning of 2010, compact Logan will be assembled there.
Automakers of the whole world go through hard times and the only way of salvation is government help. While American Big Three asks for more and more from Washington DC, Swedish government has already agreed to help Volvo and Saab with their development.
Nissan presented a commercial concept which was made for the North American market and will only be sold there.
