An interesting way of saving on insurance offers Progressive to its customers. The company says, it is not only important to know the driver’s credit score, his experience, age, number of tickets, but also to see how he/she actually drives.

If a person is sure he drives really well and does not make many mistakes on the road, he/she can try the offer. It absolutely does not mean there will be always a person sitting next to you and watching you driving. The insurer is ready to attach a special device to the vehicle, which will make records on how many miles are driven, how fast the driver accelerates and how often the brakes are applied.

The program sounds really attractive. Just for signing up Progressive gives 10% discount. You drive with the special device in the auto for certain amount of time and when it is time to renew the policy it can be either decreased by up to 60% for very safe driving or increased by up to 9%.

Last June the program started in Alabama. Up till this time it is available in Minnesota, Oregon and Michigan. In the beginning of August the car owners from New Jersey will be able to participate in this innovation. Soon it will spread throughout the whole country.
