Smaller Premiums for Safer Drivers

MyRate sensor

Progressive offers a special program for the safe drivers, who follow the rules and are cautious on the road. MyRate is the behavior-based auto insurance program, which gives the rates considering the amount of time the vehicle is driven and the risk of an accident. Progressive’s MyRate general manager says, “It's for people who drive at low risk times of day and who keep alert for others on the road. They don't make fast lane changes or follow too closely behind other drivers so they don't have to over-react or slam on the brakes.” When you sign in for this program you don’t just explain to an agent how well you can drive. The company gives you a small wireless device which plugs into your car. This device helps the insurance company to know how much and when the auto is driven, how well the driver follows the rules, if he applies the acceleration too often, etc. If the device will notify you as a safe driver, the provider can give you a lower premium. MyRate is already available for Alabama drivers who apply for the policy online, by phone or through the insurance agents.
