Teachers' Auto Insurance Company of New Jersey offers auto insurance coverage only for faculty and staff of New Jersey licensed educational facilities. The provider thinks that teachers are careful drivers and at lower risk to get into an accident. Not long ago a special program “Quotes for Cash” has been launched by the company.
Through this program money is collected and donated to local schools. “Quotes for Cash” also gives scholarships and grants. This year two senior students have received $1,000 scholarships as part of the program.
There were 67 applicants from 21 High Schools from all over the state. In the end the judges had to choose among five statewide finalists. Patrick Maguire and Stephanie Cooke became the happy winners of the program. Both of them come from Lacy Township district which signed up to “Quotes for Cash” only in the end of school year.
"I couldn't be more pleased that our relatively new relationship with Teachers' Insurance has already begun to pay dividends," said Joyce Rager, Lacey's Guidance Department Chairperson.
Michael Franck of Miami-Dade County, Florida, won a national prize of this year’s Safety Belt Poster and Video contest. He received a cash award in the computer-generated category.
Many people use their cell phones while driving although the law forbids this because talking and texting might distract a driver severely. According to the official statistics 78% crashes happen because of driver’s inattention and mobile phones are among the top causes of distraction.
Progressive is America’s number one motorcycle insurer which makes several special “treats” for customers. The insurance company is planning to arrange the program called “Corn for Kids” in course of which bikers receive free corn and can donate money to needy families.
Insurers say that the most dangerous drivers are those who have high-pressure jobs which require rush-hour driving and a lot of phone-talking.
