Volkswagen is really working on the restructuring plan for Porsche. After all the details of the merge will be settled, the German automaker wants to make a “massive U-turn in Porsche’s product plan”. The fans of latest Cayenne SUV and Panamera sport sedan should hurry up and purchase the last vehicles before their production stops completely.
Volkswagen agrees with some critics saying that the small sport-carmaker has damaged its reputation staring building heavyweight off-roaders and sedans. Besides, the German manufacturer has enough of its own models like these and does not need them from Porsche.
According to the plan Porsche is going back to designing and assembling only sports cars. There will be at least one platform shared with the company’s owner. Additional models will be added to Porsche model-line. First of all VW Modular Sportscar Structure which is still in development, is going to be used for a mid-engine every level model below the current Boxter/Cayman.
